Day 1 was productive. It was a bit over whelming at first as I am attempting this on my own without live instruction, yet making sure finger placement and technique is accurate. I found an invaluable tool on Guitar Centers website, it is a software package called Guitar Vision. It shows you a guitar, finger placement and you can download different lessons, songs, scales anything and everything. You can even customize the guitar so it sounds/looks just like the one you’re playing.
I downloaded a bunch of songs, licks, scales and lessons and started off practicing A, D & E arpeggio’s. I am amazed at how quickly my fingers start to hurt and become fatigued. I played for 3 hours last night and by the end of the third I couldnt hold a note to save my life my fingers were so sore. Practice, practice, practice.
If you cant tell, I’m really excited about the prospect of learning the guitar, and more importantly: something new. It was actually a great experience, the sales person was extremely helpfull and very nice and didn’t come off with any attitude even though I’ve never even held a guitar before. Interesting part is that I guess I look like a rocker today in my new threads because two seperate people came up and starting chatting me up, one is a local producer who said he was looking for some new talent and thought I might be it. The other was a guy looking for a guitarist for his band.
I’m popping a thousand bonars *right now*
Ibanez Artcore AS-73 Brown Sunburst
Ended up going with the Brown Sunburst, as the blue was special order and would take around 30 days. This is a classier piece anyways.
Can suck a nut, how can something be in stock, then out of stock then in stock, then out of stock all within 24 hours? Either way, that guitar is not coming home with me this weekend. My last bastion of hope is to find this puppy in one of the local stores… it’s better looking anyways.
